Shimla

WORLD HIGHEST CRICKET GROUND

The Chail cricket stadium is the highest cricket ground in the world, Built in 1893, The ground located at 2444 meters above sea level. The ground is surrounded by forest. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh was a cricket lover and used the Chail Cricket Ground to play with friends. After the formation of the Indian Union Maharaja Bhupinder Singh donated all the buildings and the ground to Chail Military School and to the Government of India. This ground also includes basketball court.

Kufri

Kufri is a small hill station, situated 13 km from Shimla In Himachal Pardesh. It is perched at an altitude of 2,510 meter above sea. Kufri developed its name from ‘Kufr’ which means lake.The best time to visit Kufri is in summers between April and June or in winters between December and February to enjoy snowfall. In summers, you can enjoy the panoramic view surrounding by Nature. There are lots of picnic spots, hiking and trekking trails in and around Kufri.

Chail Sanctuary

Chail Sanctuary is located at Chail, a hill station which is Resistance of wildlife. It covers 110 km2 area. Chail Sanctuary has a large forest. In 1976, Chail Wildlife Sanctuary was identified and it was declared as a protected area under government consideration.The sanctuary has mainly mammals. Large mammals include rhesus macaque, leopards, Indian muntjac and crested porcupine. Some of the other species found in the area include Himalayan black bear, wild boar, common langur and sambar.
